Radio Shakespeare

How to use your voice effectively
in Modern and Shakespearean English

Workshop Focus: Experimenting with voice / Intro to Shakespeare / Teamwork
60 mins and 90 mins options

This workshop focuses on the importance of voice when performing Shakespeare.

Students will learn techniques to warm up their voice and will explore different tools to discover different vocal qualities.

They will experiment with intentions (what one character is trying to do to another character), and will learn how vital it is that they use their voice to communicate more than just Shakespearean words to an audience.

By the end of the workshop:

Students will have understood an extract from The Tempest and will have worked in teams to transform it

into their very own radio play. If time allows, they can perform their play in front of the class.
